"As a researcher, I can say that David Hardy’s nutritional formulas have the most scientific evidence of any in the world for improving mental disorders." Dr. Bonnie Kaplan, University of Calgary

Clinical Research: Impressive, Independent, Ongoing

Dr. Julia Rucklidge has explored the connection between nutrition and mental health through numerous research studies at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Although her research studies are designed and funded independent of Hardy Nutritionals®, she is one of many researchers who has studied Hardy Nutritionals® products for the simple reason that they consistently deliver results worthy of publication in peer-reviewed academic journals.

The Mechanism: Forgotten Fundamentals

Is there really data to support the assertion that 'we get all the nutrition we need from our food'? Scurvy, beriberi, anemia...virtually every nutrient deficiency disorder presents with neurological and psychological symptoms... so is the hypothesis that broad-spectrum sub-clinical micronutrient insufficiencies contribute to psychiatric symptomology laughable or logical?
The above 'dam impressive' results Daily Essential Nutrients is delivering for mood disorders is challenging the old reductionist paradigms in psychiatry.

Clinical Micronutrients: A Must-Have for Your Clinical Toolkit

Dr. Scott Shannon, Integrative Psychiatrist, and Dr. Lawrence Cormier, MD, discuss the clinical use of Daily Essential Nutrients and how micronutrient therapy is helping to shape the future of functional and integrative medicine. This interview was part of a segment aired on Modern Living Television with Kathy Ireland. Watch the full 10-minute airing.

Dr. Charles Popper

Dr. Charles Popper was not always interested in nutrients. As Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, he was (and still is) a prominent expert in the use of psychiatric medications. He became interested in nutrient treatments for mood disorders only when he observed first-hand a dramatic response to a micronutrient formulation that was co-developed by Hardy Nutritionals® Founder David Hardy.† Before treatment with the nutrient formula, the 10-year-old boy with bipolar disorder experienced "severe temper tantrums, which lasted for two to four hours daily for four months." After taking the specialized multi-nutrient treatment for a short time, the boy enjoyed "full stabilization without psychiatric medications" or side-effects. The effect on Dr. Popper was powerful. In a recent media interview, he commented, "Now, we don't have any psychiatric drugs that can do that. I've never seen a psychiatric drug do that in any case!" Since witnessing this dramatic recovery, Dr. Popper has treated "several hundred youth and adults" using Daily Essential Nutrients and its earlier versions, with excellent success. Many independent researchers around the world are reporting similar results using Hardy's clinical micronutrients.

“What we’re finding is the stability that vitamins and minerals are able to achieve is far greater than what psychiatric drugs will do.”Dr. Charles Popper, Psychiatrist, Psychopharmacologist, Harvard

Dr. Popper reviews all of the mental health research conducted to date using nutritional treatments. He stresses that single-nutrient research has shown very few clinically meaningful results, while recent research using multiple nutrients has shown very promising results. The relatively recent approach of using broad-spectrum micronutrient treatments in mental health is showing impressive results. Dr. Popper comments, "Broad-spectrum micronutrient strategies supply a wide range of vitamins and minerals, an approach that is likely to provide more pervasive and significant physiologic changes than supplying just one or a few micronutrients at a time." He emphasizes that there is no clinically validated method to determine what levels of nutrients each individual needs for optimal health, so multi-nutrient treatments offer a "practical and sensible alternative" to ensure that all individual nutrient needs are met. After reviewing the scientific literature, Dr. Popper comments, "Broad-spectrum micronutrient interventions have been examined and found surprisingly effective for altering mood, cognition, and behavior."

Your patients can purchase from us at a special rate, or you can order from us wholesale.

Our experience is that while Daily Essential Nutrients can initially be taken safely with most medications, many types of medications will need to be adjusted or gradually eliminated while using Daily Essential Nutrients. If a patient is taking medications, they must work with the prescribing practitioner to carefully monitor their drug side effects and doses. Generally, as the nutrients begin to take effect, psychoactive drugs will need to be gradually reduced and eventually eliminated. This transition from medications to micronutrients is best done under supervision of a physician trained in the use of micronutrient therapy.
